Supporting Bristol City Council’s ‘City Leadership Programme’

JCA Global are proudly supporting Bristol City Council’s ‘City Leadership Programme‘, and will next week run a skill building session entitled, “Me, my personality and attitude”.

The City Leadership Programme identifies and invests in the lives of high-ability, high-aspiration students from backgrounds of disadvantage and groups which are under-represented in leadership. The programme aims to change lives by nurturing participants’ leadership potential and accelerate their personal growth. It is designed as a launch pad for future local, national and international leaders in business, politics and non-government organisations.

On the 2nd July, JCA Global CEO, John Cooper and Customer Support Advisor, Betsy Varghese, will run an interactive session for the 15 participants, as part of the two-week intensive summer course built around personal reading, academic enrichment, networking and skills building.  The session will include explaining the importance of resilience and attitude, as well as reflecting on each participant’s personal Emotional Intelligence profile and Personality Type Profile. Betsy Varghese will also give a personal overview of her own background growing up in foster care, the challenges faced and how understanding and developing her own Emotional Intelligence has benefited her in the workplace.

John Cooper says of the programme, “JCA Global are delighted to be involved once again with the City Leadership Programme. It’s an incredible opportunity to support these young people in achieving their ambitions and helping them realise and develop their leadership qualities. The importance of Emotional Intelligence in future leaders is enormous, we see every day amongst our clients the need for mindset as well as skillset.”

Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol adds, “I believe it is in our collective interest to take a proactive approach to growing the talent and values that will lead us tomorrow. I launched the City Leadership Programme in 2012 to focus on young people and their potential and I am pleased to have brought it in-house to the Mayor’s Office. We are really pleased to have the support of successful local businesses, and the experts in their field, to share knowledge and advice as part of the programme.”
